Log Cabins, Log Cabins and more Log Cabins

These days, Martingale released a brand new book about variations of log cabins, featuring 16 quilts from various designers.

I am very excited to be part of this book, called I LOVE LOG CABINS and to celebrate the new book, you can win a copy. Since so many of our contributors are from US and will post giveaways there, this one is meant for an European winner. So it will be randomly given to one of the European comments.
The book has something for every style, if traditional or more modern and here is a sneak peak of my favorites (you can see all projects in the preview on Martingales website).
Blocked in by Melissa Corry

Hourglass-Courthouse-Steps by Audrie Bidwell

Rockin the Rainbow by Jackie White

Scrappy-Courthouse-Steps by Lissa Alexander

And this is my contribution, a very simple modern Log-Cabin Variation using only 5 Pieces per Block. I used a color scheme of berries, reminding of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, currants and also tangerines and peaches or plums. I spiced the solids up with some prints of my current in stores line FOR YOU.
I called it VERY BERRY.

here are some details of the prints and the quilting (for the quilting motif I used my fabric pattern and translated it in a quilting line).

I had a couple of left over squares from my solid, so I made a kind of checkerboard as my backing. As you can see, the quilting is only on the solids and the prints are left blank.

If you want to win a copy of this brand new book, just leave a comment below. And don’t forget to let me know your email address, so I can contact you, if you are the winner.
Best luck!

  14. My first quilt was a rail fence, but somehow I've managed to miss making any log cabin quilts (or at least, not bigger than a mug rug). How can that be? laurendmatheson (at) gmail dot com

  24. I love log cabins and have made bunches of both traditional and scrappy with angles, ones that make a heart shape, and ones with a variety of patterns. I am always up for one more! Love your Very Berry. Simple and elegant. Thanks for a chance to win the book. dezertsuz at gmail dot com

  25. First of all, I LOVE your fabrics, Brigette! Thank you for you wonderful design talents.
I would be thrilled to win a copy of this Log Cabin book. Several of the patterns shown look so modern that they don't even seem to be made of Log Cabin blocks at all. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
