Maybe you’ve already heard about …
Moda celebrates National Sewing Month and gives you a look behind the scenes of every Moda designer. They all will tell you a bit about where they’re living and what is going on in their lives currently. Perhaps they’ll reveal a bit about their new lines too…
Here is all the info about the blog tour, the free patterns and the giveaways. You have a chance to win something every day, also from the previous blog stops, until 15th of October. Don’t miss your chance and check out everything!
We all tell a bit about our hometown, and here is mine (not the one where I was born, but where I am living now).
It’s called WERTHER and it’s pretty small, we have about 12.000 pop. It’s quiet, nearly as you stay in a dreamy village for a few days on holiday: fields, forests, vast landscapes, tranquility
It’s beautiful for hiking or just a walk (only a busy Moda designer doesn’t find the time to do so…)
And if you are in a mood for a shopping day in a bigger town – no problem: Bielefeld with its 200.000 pop is just twenty driving minutes away.
If you would come to visit me, I’ll take you to our ice cream store, which is famous for its tasty ice cream, we could have a walk around the fields, a relaxed time for chatting and maybe we would end up at the “Böckstiegel” museum, a small house where a well-known expressionist painter once lived. Like me he was a passionate lover of the use of colors.
Perhaps I would urge you to try one these tasty Werther candies which are known all over the world…
Speaking from candies – did you know that Moda has a new fabric pre-cut size called “Candy”? It’s 2 1/2” by 2 1/2” and perfect for little gifts and projects. Each of us designers made a little project for the last Quilt Market out of a candy of our line. And this blog hop offers a lot of free patterns for the candy size.
Although for some reasons I don’t have a free pattern for my line available, I nevertheless have something to show:
A bed quilt made only from one candy and some background fabric! The ones who know me know also that it HAD to be minimalist ,-)
Don’t worry about no free candy pattern from Zen Chic, I’m sure the Juggling Summer fabrics go well with most of the free patterns of the other designers too.
Or get the Zen Silver pattern, which will give you a very similar look.
The pre-cut fabrics of Juggling Summer are already available in many stores and we eagerly wait for the bolts to arrive in October!!
There is a certain chance for a short-cut ;-) I have a big, fat bundle of Fat Quarters for you to win!
What do you have to do to win that price? Please leave a comment and tell me which is your favorite Zen Chic pattern or which kind of pre-cut you like best to work with. And take care to leave your email address so I can contact you in case you’re the lucky winner!
Also schau einfach überall mal vorbei!

Zen Silver is the best! I love working with the candy!
susie4green@yahoo.com
Love your story of where you live , wish I could visit. I like your pillows best, but hard to choose a favorite. I am really new to precuts, so not sure how I feel about them. Thanks for the picture of your home town.
Love your minimalist quilt. It's perfect. My favorite precut is the jelly roll. It's amazing how much you can do with one.
Love this line so much - I actually bought a layer cake of it awhile back just so I could see the full range. I would cetainly use a Fat quarter set in a quilt - maybe even 2. Would love to visit your town-can't believe Werther's candies are from there!
Fat Quarters are my favorite pre-cut.
I love the London Tube Pattern! My favorite precuts are fat quarters and layer cakes!
I love your quilt and your home town and the fabric and the layer cake! Just wow
Greetings from Maple Ridge BC Canada. Fat quarters are my favourites. The Orange Bricks is such a popular pattern.
I LOVE your style! It's hard to name just one favorite pattern - so I'll name two: Oho and Zen Silver.
kayben1(at)yahoo(dot)com
I work best with half yard cuts. I feel like if I have fat quarters, I'm always left with wanting more.
I met you at market and I can't wait til your line comes out!
Hugs & Kisses!
sukie
I love fat quarters. That way I can buy lots of different fabrics rather then a yard of each.
I love the colours!! I love to work with layer cakes as they're so versatile - 4 charm packs for lots of baby quilts, or slice up for a sofa quilt, or even lots of mini charm packs! If I REALLY love a line, then I'll buy a FQ bundle!
I love working with any of the pre-cuts. Love your fabrics and designs.
I love the zippered zig zag quilt with the solid colors.

Howdy Brigitte! That's a big warm hello from Texas, USA. :) I really like your minimalist approach. Big Wheel is my favorite pattern of yours, and I love to work with charm packs. Thank you so much!

I recently came addicted to modern quilts, so your designs please me very much! My favorite precuts are certainly jellyrolls. One can make so many different designs with them!
Love the London Tube. I'm always looking for more information and ideas for modern quilting. Mostly you find blogs out of UK or America. I will follow yours now! lia.vandenbrand@live.nl
I like the London Tube quilt AND the OHO quilt. Both fun and unusual. Thanks for the opportunity to win.
Linen Inlay is my favorite of your patterns. Beautiful work!

It's got to be fat quarters as it leaves so many options. Interesting reading about your town. Although I am Australian I have family in koln and Bonn and nearby. I always enjoy visiting.
Evnjoleavetrax@gmail.com
Love all your patterns, but "The Big Wheel" is my favourite.
As a quilter I love any size fabric. Many thanks for the opportunity to win a Moda bundle of fat quarters.
I have not seen your fabric prior to this, I really like juggling summer - I've been looking for a fabric line for a quilt - this may work.
lkstickney@earthlink.net
Hallo Brigitte,
I find eurenJelly Belly Quilt toll.

Beautiful city! I have visited the Bavaria part of Germany years ago...also beautiful!
I haven't worked much with pre-cuts. I usually sew with yardage. I would like to work more with pre-cuts, though.

I had to laugh when you said you live in a small village of twelve thousand. I live in a small village in Franceof twelve! That is, when I am not living in New Zealand. Back to your quilts....I love Zen Silver and I also love working with fat quarters. Have never minded cutting fabricandfindthemso versatile.
Diana
Fat Quarters are my favourite but I would love to try some candy!
I like your silver pattern and I have made the pattern in your sidebar that you did as a QAL! (that's how I found you!)
I'm really drawn to the Juggling Summer quilt. It's so pretty as are the colours in your new line.
Thanks for the tour of your town. I like working with fat quarters.

Have I been living under a rock? While I know the name Zen Chic, I really have not checked your work out before, man what I have been missing!! I love your minimalist and modern approach, and Zen Silver looks amazing so I will be looking into your patterns in detail as soon as my download limit reloads, I am on seriously slow dialup speed at the moment (what comes from having to replace a dodgy antivirus and then using up my limit in loads of download for updates, yuk). I love all precuts, saves so much cutting time, though I rarely get to play with fq so would so love to win these.
I love the quilt you showed. My favourite precuts are either Fat Quarters or jelly rolls.
I really like the simplicity of Orange Brick. In terms of precuts I like fat quarters
I think my favourite pattern is the Jelly Belly quilt.
I like Werther's Originals a lot. Probably too much if you believe my dentist.
Mach weiter so!!
I really hope I can enter since I'm from the States. Love the Fat Quarters, with more design options. Thanks for the chance.
I love working with fat quarters. sarahleighATinternodeDOTonDOTnet
Sounds like fun (the tour) :)

Hard to pick between all the pre-cuts! I love both layercakes and jelly rolls but these new minis are just sew cute! Of Course with a charm pack, I could make 4 minis!!
I like the OHO quilt best and all precuts I would say the jellyrolls are my favorite, although I like all forms of MODA fabrics!

LOve working with Jelly rolls! But fabric is fabric, right!
My favorite pre-cut is fat quarters and I love the new fabric line!

Beautiful part of the world you live in would love to visit again. Spent a time in Rheinland-Pfalz a few years ago, and loved all the small towns in the area we were in.
Your fabric is gorgeous.
I love to work with fat quarters, they are so versatile. Thanks for showing your town, someday I would like to visit Germany.
I love all the precuts! All of your patterns are striking, but Big Wheel is my favorite.
Thank you for the opportunity!
It's too hard to pick my fav on your patterns, love 'em all. I love working with 6" and 6 1/2" pre-cuts. p.s. thanks for sharing your home town. Beautiful.

I love your White Labyrinth! Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cut to work with. Thanks for sharing.
Juggling Summer is beautiful ! and those shots of your home town - - I love them -- especially the rooftop picture. Thanks for creating such beautiful fabric and patterns. I'm a fat quarter girl -- if you call them pre-cuts...
Thanks again,
Karen
I enjoy using Charm packs because they are quick and I can have a project to give away in short order. :)
I really like the layer cakes as I can do more with them. I love the red roofs of your town AND Wurther candies-yum! They are expecially nice to take along while traveling.
I haven't tried a project using the candy pre-cuts yet but love all the other precuts. If I had to pick a favorite it would probably be fat quarters. Thanks for a chance.
I love using fat quarters. Jelly rolls are great too. Thanks for the tour and the giveaway.
zquiltshop@aol.com
My fav precut are charms. My fav line of yours? All of them :-).
What a lovely town to live in. I toured Germany with a musical group several years ago and loved the country and its people. One of my best friends lives on Lake Starnberg. I guess I like fat quarters the best. It is enough fabric to be useful but a small enough amount to be able to afford a variety.
LOVE Juggling Summer ever since I saw the post using a charm pack to make a skirt.
I love Zen Silver, right now I have been doing a lot with charm packs. Thanks for sharing
Love Zen Silver. Have been using jelly rolls lately.
Thanks for the lovely pics and the chance to win.
I like working with Fat Quarters best! I took a river cruise with my daughter to Germany 2 years ago and had great fun ~ loved the country and people.
London Tube is my favorite pattern - gorgeous! Thanks for the chance to win!
London Tube is my favorite pattern.
Also love the Oho pattern. The quilting is beautiful on it.
vrbabiesnkids@gmail.com
Love your juggling summer fabrics.
Although I love using all the pre-cuts, I'd have to say the layer cake is my favorite.
I like using charm squares for small projects. Haven't tried the new small ones yet.
Fat Quarters are my fabric pre-cut. Thanks for being a part of the Blog Hop and showing us your wonderful pictures.
grannykeown@mchsi.com
I love your quilt made with candies!!! I would have never thought about that! My favorite type of pre-cut is fat quarters. You can do almost anything with them--the possibilities are endless! Thanks for the chance to win some yummy fabric!
I love your quilts. I really like the Zen Silver. Your fabrics are beautiful. I prefer fat quarters. Thanks for the chance to win.
Mostly I have worked with charm squares and layer cakes...but I want to try the new candy. Kristy soardkg@fuse.netdiesagem 59
I love precuts, fat quarters are my favorite. Thanks for being part of the blog hop.
bakerswife1@hotmail.com
I love the pictures of your hometown - what a beautiful place to live. The circular quilting on the bed quilt is stunning!Thank you for the chance to win!
bonnie@fusemeister.com
Good morning Brigitte, My favorite pre-cut has to be the FQ bundles. You can do so much with the FQ and you get a bit of each of the fabrics. My favorite pattern is a toss between Oho and Zen Silver. I think it is Zen Silver. Love those Werther's Originals. Thanks for the visit to Werther Germany, for sharing your time and for the chance to win the yummy FQ of Juggling Summer, have a wonderful weekend! Pauline from my hometown, Canton Michigan in USA.
love flowers and pinks in quilts...
thanks for chance to win
ABreading4fun [at] gmail [dot] com
I love the Zen Silver patter and love working with the FQ Bundles the best. Thanks for the chance to win. Love the fabric.
Shawn from Michigan
I am not familiar with your patterns but will spend some time today checking out your blog and pattern selections. Everything appears very fresh and clean. I like that. As to my favorite Moda Pre-cut, I suppose I get the most use from 5-inch charm squares.
OMG you hometown looks like something out of a fairy tale. I would love to visit.
My favorite precut right now is 5" charms because I have been doing a lot of Schnibble patterns.
Thanks so much for sharing and a chance at your generous give-away.
jleibfried@aol.com
Hi!
My favorites are still fat quarters:) I can cut anything out of them whenever I find what I want to make. Don't get me wrong I have bought some of the charm pks, jelly rolls and such:) Can't bear not to!!!
Lou from Copperas Cove TX
I love Zen Silver and London tubes!! my favorite precut is probably the fat quarters... or maybe the jelly roll... the candy might be good... oh dear! I love them ALL! Your town and fabric are Gorgeous!!
Fat quarter packs are still my favorite, although more spendy so I tend to buy jelly rolls, layer cakes, and of course charm packs more often. Love that you can do so much with a fat quarter pack though!
Materialmoments@yahoo.com
I love your minimalist quilt - wow! Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cuts - so versatile. But I still have a big bin of charm packs & I'm starting another bin of layer cakes. Thanks for the chance to win.
My favorite precuts are layer cuts--perfect to work with! christina112358 at gmail dot com
To be honest, I love fabric whatever manner in which I get it, especially if i win it!
What a beautiful place you live. Would love to visit. :) I have an on-going love affair with wienie dogs and of course they originated in Germany. :D I would have to say fat quarters are my favorite cuts.
badgershipley@gmail.com
I like working with fat quarters or charm packs.
I find myself drawn to 5" charms for my quilts. Thank you for a very generous giveaway.
I love the London Tube pattern. I love working with layer cakes perfect size and price. Tiarakoch(at)gmail(dot)com
Thank you for the generous giveaway. I like to work with fat quarters most of all as they give lots of fabric to use for more than 1 project. I would be happy to take a trip to your ice cream shop as I love it.
ks(dot)eyles(at)yahoo(dot)co(dot0uk
My favorite precut are charms. They are so versatile, and they give me just enough of a taste of the fabrics to be happy without totally blowing my starving-student budget. :)
caroline(dot)emay(at)gmail(dot)com
Thanks!
I love all of the precuts. You have choices and lots of variety. You can make the Puzzle-Box quilt-along or even the quilt from your Zen Silver pattern. Good choices for the fat quarter bundle. I am from Sonora, CA where we are 2-3 hours away from San-Francico. We are just a little city with more stoplights and by-passes coming our way. Seems people just want to retire here or just get away from the hectic life of the bay area. I really love your famous candy and the commercial that is shown on TV.
Sandi T.
sandit1@sbcglobal.net
I like working with jelly rolls! Love your Zen Silver pattern.
mfree53@gmail.com
Your "Candy" Quilt is actually really neat. The circular quilting makes it, I think!
Fat quarters are my favorite pre-cut although jelly rolls are a close second. Thanks for sharing about your hometown and for the chance at your giveaway.
I love the round bars on the quilt you pictures, what a very interesting statement that makes! I love working with precuts, and charms are usually my favorite because I feel they are more versitile. I do have an addiction to fat quarters though. Thank you!
kacyburchfield@gmail.com
I really like your Jelly Belly quilt pattern. I love using pre cuts, mostly jelly rolls, I guess it is because the projects go along quicker.
I love working with fat quarters best out of all the precuts. My first quilt was done with a jelly roll though. Took all the stress away from cutting!
I really like the fat quarter bundles -- the pieces are perfect size and you get the whole collection to work with. Thanks for a great giveaway.
My favorite pre-cut is fat quarters, especially a whole bundle like in your giveaway. There is more variety of fabrics and enough fabric in each fq to make most blocks. Pattern: Zen Silver based on what saw on your blog because couldn't get the hyperlink from your blog to work. alternate email mlwright29(at)hotmail(dot)com
My phone won't display your patterns, but I love the fabulously quilted minimalist quilt you showed us in this post. BTW we here in New York City know Werther's candy very well, it's sold in every grocery. Favorite precut is the charm pack, I can see which colors I want for yardage without cluttering up my stash.
It's great to meet a new blogger especially one from Europe. I love to hear about the lives of Moda's designers. I guess my favorite precut is the layer cake. It is affordable yet gives me the most creativity in my project because of the size of the pieces and the amount of fabric it delivers. Thanks for the chance to win some of your lovely fabrics.
I buy a lot (read that too many) fat quarters, but now I'm loving charm packs.
My favorite pre-cut is fat quarters, especially a whole bundle like in your giveaway. There is more variety and enough fabric in each fq to make most blocks. Pattern: Zen Silver based on what saw on your blog because couldn't get the hyperlink from your blog to work. alternate email mlwright29(at)hotmail(dot)com
My favorite pre-cut is jelly rolls...I have always managed to do great things with them. Second would be fat quarters...and by the way thank you for this fabulous contest prize.
I am excited to see this fabric in person. I love the colors very much. I like working with fat quarters and charm packs best. I love your Zen Silver pattern. I love that little circle in with the squares. And it is good to remind quilters that something truly lovely can be made without have a hundred different prints in it! Sometimes we all get a little carried away with our love for prints, I think.
Love the quilt shown here. Will send it on to my daughter to see and enjoy. The quilting is beautiful.
Favorite precut has been jelly rolls but I think I would like fat quarters better as there are more options.
I think layer cakes are my favorite pre-cut, but I love them all. Thanks for the chance to win
I would SO love to visit you - what a fun stroll! I love the Big Wheel pattern, how fun!
Hahaha - if you hadn't said anything about Werther's, I was going to ask you if that's where they originated! Very cool.
Hmm... I guess my favorite precut is a FQ - but this candy is so intriguing, I'd love to have a chance to work with it!
Thank you for hosting the hop!
Erin
mummyquilts@gmail.com
I really like the Zen Silver pattern (and would love some Werther's - one of my favorite candies!) I tend to like layer cakes because I think they're the most flexible of the pre-cuts without the higher cost of the FQ bundles
My favorite precuts are Jelly Rolls--I can use them for squares, triangles, diamonds, or strips like your gorgeous "Juggling Summer". Thank you for the opportunity to have some of your beautiful fabrics! Ruth in FL
I love jelly rolls.
My favorite pattern is the "Jelly Belly Quilt" because it reminds me of the garden walls so often designed for mid-century homes in the USA. These walls were constructed of narrow, elongated bricks, which were stacked in a way to leave openings to peer through.
I like to work with the charm packs and I think I am going to like the candy pieces.
I love the stony snippets! So modern and funky!
Enjoyed the tour of your hometown. It is very picturesque. I work with layer cakes for versatility.
I couldn't see the patterns. Said it was verboten. Oh well, that's life! I like working with charm packs. You get to see so many related fabrics in one small pack!
Your OHO pattern appeals to me and I usually opt for fat quarters.
Hello.
I would love to walk with you in your town. My son was stationed in Bitburg and we had the chance to spend two weeks with him. Highlights--train ride to Trier and a wedding party on motorcycles in Bitburg. I work with charm squares and jelly rolls.
I appreciate the opportunity to win some of your fabric. Thanks for participating in the Moda Blog Hop.
Your home town is lovely! I mostly use layer cake pre-cuts because I do a lot of applique. Thanks for the chance to win some gorgeous fabric!
My favorite pattern is Linen Inlay. Thanks for the giveaway!
The quilt you made with the candy is superb, just love it! Zen silver is also fabulous but a little heavier to the eye..and your swiss bag is perfect for someone I know who has relocated to Geneva!
I buy mostly fat-quarters but also like jelly rolls and layer cakes, I like the variety in precut bundles along with a good amount of plain background fabric for balance and calm.
My favorite precut would have to be charms. Thanks for the giveaway.
I am not sure I have a favorite precut, but I always seem drawn to jelly rolls and fat quarters. I have not used the candy size yet, but i am sure it would be fun. Love your Zen Silver. Thanks for sharing!
My favorite is your puzzle box pattern! I probably like using fat quarter bundles best so that I can make larger projects.
Thanks for the chance to win.
Amanda
I love your Zen Silver pattern. It's so clean and modern looking.
New to quilting (1yr) and new to you, so I don't really know your patterns or fabric but that's what I love about these hops...I get to "meet" new people, places and new fabric!
Loved what you made with your "candy"
Tee
You patterns are "ALL" fabulous, but I favor Juggling Summer because of the white space. It suits your fabrics very well! Thanks you for the opportunity to win that fabulous fat Quarter bundle! I am sad to see this be the end, but they saved the best for last!
I spent time in Todendorf 40 years ago when my husband was in the U.S. Navy, your town reminds me of that time which was very enjoyable. I love your Zen Silver.
My favorite precuts are charm squares. I like the size and the different patterns that can be used to make quilts. Thanks. Danka
I love the look of Zen Silver with its squares and circles. I also like the way the quilting circles varry in spacing and the quilter didn't worry about overlapping. I like fat quarters best but layers cakes are fun because you can easily cut them in to all the other sizes.
My favorite pattern is the Zen Silver.
Hello from Texas :)
I love the pictures of your town. So picturesque! My favorite pre-cut is a layer cake but I do love collecting fat quarters!
Your quilting is just wonderful.I most use,fat quarter, charm pack and jelly roll.My favorite pattern is Zen silver. Thanks for the chance!!
I wondered why the name of your town was familiar, until I saw the candy. :-)
All of your patterns are lovely, but I think London Tube is my favorite and Zen Silver is second.
Thank you for sharing.
Your designs caught my eye while looking at blog posts from quilt market. Really like Oho. Never realized Werther's candy came from Germany! Must be why I like them! Your post brings back memories of a trip to Germany to visit relatives several years ago. agholland at triad dot rr dot com
I would have to say that London Tube is my favorite pattern. Thank you for the chance to win.
Lovin' those jelly rolls.
My favorite precut are the charm squares. It is great for an applique project. Every piece I use coordinates with the rest. The zen silver is a great pattern.
I love working with pre-cuts, and my favorite pre-cut actually is which ever I am working with at the time!
You live in a very beautiful place!
Is that field of yellow in your photo canola? I visited Germany in April 2007 and saw many fields of bright yellow and was surprised to find out it was canola!

What an incredibly beautiful quilt-- the quilting REALLY stands out and is just wonderful!!
I think that my favorite type of precut to work with is the 5 inch charms.. although I do love fat quarters, because they are big enough to use for all sorts of projects. I've never tried a jelly roll, but have surely seen some gorgeous quilts made using them!

Your Oho quilt pattern is really cool! Thanks for the chance :)samanthadavis (at)gmail dot com
I love all the moda precuts! They each have their own "just right" project. But of course my favorite are fat quarter bundles- you get the most fabric that way! Isn't that what it's all about? ;) I was so excited to see you're from Germany. I didn't realize that before. Germany holds a special place in my heart. Growing up we had a foreign exchange student that was from Georgsmarienhütte. My favorite time of the year was the Christmas packages with German chocolates! Mmm...

Oh you are so lucky! I was born in Frankfurt Germany but came to the U.S. when I was only five months old. I have never been back. Someday I hope to have enough money to go back. It has been a major dream of mine as long as I can remember. Thank you so much for sharing your hometown with us. I like to work with fat quarter bundles the most but jelly rolls are fun too!
