Maybe you’ve already heard about …
Moda celebrates National Sewing Month and gives you a look behind the scenes of every Moda designer. They all will tell you a bit about where they’re living and what is going on in their lives currently. Perhaps they’ll reveal a bit about their new lines too…
Here is all the info about the blog tour, the free patterns and the giveaways. You have a chance to win something every day, also from the previous blog stops, until 15th of October. Don’t miss your chance and check out everything!
We all tell a bit about our hometown, and here is mine (not the one where I was born, but where I am living now).
It’s called WERTHER and it’s pretty small, we have about 12.000 pop. It’s quiet, nearly as you stay in a dreamy village for a few days on holiday: fields, forests, vast landscapes, tranquility
It’s beautiful for hiking or just a walk (only a busy Moda designer doesn’t find the time to do so…)
And if you are in a mood for a shopping day in a bigger town – no problem: Bielefeld with its 200.000 pop is just twenty driving minutes away.
If you would come to visit me, I’ll take you to our ice cream store, which is famous for its tasty ice cream, we could have a walk around the fields, a relaxed time for chatting and maybe we would end up at the “Böckstiegel” museum, a small house where a well-known expressionist painter once lived. Like me he was a passionate lover of the use of colors.
Perhaps I would urge you to try one these tasty Werther candies which are known all over the world…
Speaking from candies – did you know that Moda has a new fabric pre-cut size called “Candy”? It’s 2 1/2” by 2 1/2” and perfect for little gifts and projects. Each of us designers made a little project for the last Quilt Market out of a candy of our line. And this blog hop offers a lot of free patterns for the candy size.
Although for some reasons I don’t have a free pattern for my line available, I nevertheless have something to show:
A bed quilt made only from one candy and some background fabric! The ones who know me know also that it HAD to be minimalist ,-)
Don’t worry about no free candy pattern from Zen Chic, I’m sure the Juggling Summer fabrics go well with most of the free patterns of the other designers too.
Or get the Zen Silver pattern, which will give you a very similar look.
The pre-cut fabrics of Juggling Summer are already available in many stores and we eagerly wait for the bolts to arrive in October!!
There is a certain chance for a short-cut ;-) I have a big, fat bundle of Fat Quarters for you to win!
What do you have to do to win that price? Please leave a comment and tell me which is your favorite Zen Chic pattern or which kind of pre-cut you like best to work with. And take care to leave your email address so I can contact you in case you’re the lucky winner!
Also schau einfach überall mal vorbei!

I have not yet worked with any of the -precuts except for fat quarters? It would be a fun challenge to try any of them!

I love fatquarters & jelly rolls. Also love your circle quilting. Thanks for the giveaway.
I really like you London Tube Pattern and jellyrolls are one of my favorite pre-cuts.
My favorite pre-cuts are the Layer Cakes and of course the fat quarters. thanks for the great giveaway!
I like your Zen Silver pattern - I was born in Germany and still have some family members there - near Frankfurt, Hanau, Ober Morlen. I love Germany and hope to get back there some day - it has been over 30 years since I was there last. This blog hop has been fun
I enjoy working with jelly rolls. I visited Germany last spring with my husband. You have a beautiful country and I can't wait to visit again! Thanks for the chance to win!
I enjoy working with charm packs but have had purchased a candy pack in the past for a particular pattern where the designer precut the smaller squares for us. Your bed quilt with the circular quilting was beautiful.
I think that many of us would enjoy walking your paths and seeing your town.
Brigitte, Your designs are beautiful. My favorite design is London Tube. I had the opportunity to visit your lovely country for one short week nearly 25 years ago. I loved it.

I mostly work with charm squares and jelly rolls.
I love Moda and think it's time to try modern quilting!
Thanks for sharing your hometown.
Hi! I love your minimalist/modern quilt style. I really like your White Labyrinth quilt pattern.
I'm loving London Tube. The colors they used are striking. Thanks for a great giveaway. My brother lives in Berlin now and I have never been over to visit. I'm hoping to remedy that either this year or next.
My favorite precut depends on my project. Fat quarters are more versatile but require more cutting. Jellys, charms etc are more ready to sew. I am working on a quilt that requires 196 2 1/2 inch squares that I've cut from yardage. Those candies are looking very yummy right now!
lefuntz@cox.net
You have created some beautiful quilt patterns. I really like the White Labyrinth and also OHO. Both are awesome.
vburr at charter dot net
I just discovered your fabrics and quilts today too and LOVE them.my favorite apttern is linen inlay. i guess I like the jelly rolls best although I haven't made too many quilts yet with them.
lawton_linda at yahoo dot com
I love all your patterns (truly) - the first was Labyrinth, then Oho, and now I really like the look of Zen Silver. I like the random circles in it. Thanks for the chance to win some of your gorgeous fabric! knitist at gmail.com
It's a toss up for me between jelly rolls or fat quarters. Fun to learn about where you live. Your line of fabric looks so cooooool!!!!!
I prefer working with 2 1/2" jelly roll strips. There are so many lovely patterns now that use them.
I think the Circles Around pattern looks fun! Thanks for the introduction to your hometown!
I like your Oho pattern and my favorite precut is a fat quarter bundle of an entire collection of a fabric line. Great giveaway! Thanks.
I love Germany and the time I spent there....your fabric is beautiful.
Your town looks lovely. We just returned from a vacation in south eastern Germany and loved the small towns. My favorite pattern is Stony Snippets.
I like fat quarters the best. Thank you for the chance to win.
Wow! Love all your paterns, Zen Silver if I nmust choose. Love Layer cakes and Jelly rolls. Thanks for sharing your beautiful town.
I'm not familiar with your line of fabric, but would love to win the fat bundle for a special quilt.
My husband was from Passau in Bavaria. We have toured Germany times, as most of his relatives still live there. But, I have never been to Werther. I love all the small villages.

London Tube or Linen Inlay are my favourites (hope it's okay to pick two... it was too hard to only choose one favourite, Brigitte! lol)
How fun to learn about where you live! Heading to the ice cream shop or enjoying some Werther's candy sounds perfect. Now if only I didn't live half a world away... ;o)
The quilting on the candy quilt is beautiful I love it! I like to work with fat quarter bundles...so many possibilities. Thanks for the chance to win
Werther's is our all time favorite candy. I have only worked with Charm packs, so that's my favorite, for now anyway :-) Thanks for the giveaway.
I love working with fat quarters. There are so many possibilities because of the size.
i like the jelly rolls the best because i make small quilts! thanks for the chance to win!

I love working with fat quarters so you really should pick me to be the winner!!!!
Beautiful patterns! I love White Labirynth
Juggling summer is my favorite but all your quilts are inspirational and beautiful.
love that quilt. The quilting is awesome.
Zen Silver looks like a wonderful pattern. Love the simplicity of it. Fat quarter stack would be my favorite but usually can't afford to buy many of those so a fat Eighth is my favorite.
Liebe Brigitte, mir gefällt der Big Wheel Quilt am besten. Der OHO-Quilt ist ebenfalls etwas Besonderes...Es ist schwer sich zu entscheiden! Martina
For some reason I couldn't get the link to the patterns to work. But I did a little poking around and found your zippered zig zag quilt which is awesome! I love working with fat quarters because if I just get the smaller pieces, I always wish I had more :) I would love to visit Germany! Family roots there on both sides :)
I read the second half of your blog and wow, did that test what I remembered of my years of taking German courses in school. We were lucky enough to travel in Germany for 2 weeks many years ago. Such beautiful scenery and friendly and helpful folks (when we were frequently lost!) I guess that I usually buy fat quarters so that I have lots of options of how to use them. Aufwiedersehen!
Guten tag! My husband and I were in Warnemunde as part of a cruise of the Baltic Sea this summer - would love to get back to Deutschland for a longer visit! I guess I like the Jelly Rolls and the charm packs for pre-cuts. I am new to your fabric & designs and appreciate the opportunity to get to know you through Moda's blog hop!
You live in such a beautiful place! I would love to live there! I love jelly rolls, they make it so easy! All of your patterns are so cool and I love how you base them off of pictures, or something you've seen. So creative!
I like your Oho pattern! My favorite pre-cut is the jelly roll. (mrssharon62@gmail.com)
I LOVE Werther's candy and have some in our candy dish right now!
I like working with charm packs or fat quarters but tend to buy fabric by the yard. It's easy to cut into usable smaller sections. You town looks like a picture book place. So pretty.
Love your fabric! Fat quarters are my favorite and my favorite pattern is the London Tube because it reminds me of my study abroad program I did in college in Europe and London :). Juliannebroox at gmail dot com
I love jelly rolls! And Love your fabric necklace pattern. proverbs3122(at)gmail(dot)com
thanks for the giveaway. My favorite pattern is London tube.
Fat quarters are my favorite because there is so much you can do with them. I have tried and do like the Werthers candies, they have a wonderful flavor!
I love charm packs! There is minimal cutting involved and easier to calculate the needed fabric for a project!
My favorite Moda precut to work with is a jelly roll!
I like what you did with the candy on an expansive background. My favorite pre-cuts are the charms because they're so versatile and just darn fun to collect.klkeenan@fmctc.com
Oooo ... I do love what you did with those candies. I'm sure I could replicate the look without an actual pattern. Very cute.
I do love your patterns and your overall aesthetic. The Oho design is my favourite. I haven't yet tackled curves (I'm newish to quilting) but when I do, this is is the one I want to make. If you're actually reading this, I'd be interested to know how this pattern would be for a "confident beginner" type quilter?
I love the "Juggling Summer" quilt pattern. It is so peaceful ~ reminds me of your country side. Beautiful pictures of your area.

Libby from Caldwell, Texas
I love your patterns and like fat quarters best to work with. Your fabric is gorgeous!
Fat Quarter bundles are my favorite choice but, I can't always afford to get them so....I like the charm squares. I get all the fabric colors and prints just smaller sizes. Thanks for a tour of your town and your great giveaway.
I think my favorite quilt pattern is Jelly Belly. I haven't done anything with a jelly roll before, Jelly Belly looks like it wuokld be fun. My favorite pre-cut so far is the charm pack. I do like fat quarters also. My mom was from Germany and I have lots of happy memories going and visiting my Oma and Opa every four years in the summer. Thanks for the chance to win.
I like the Zen Silver pattern and Fat quarters are probably my favorite precut, although jelly rolls are fun, too.
Enjoyed looking over your blog. Love your London Tube patter. Fat quarter bundles are my favorite precute. Werthers candies are one of the best. So nice to know where they come from!
lindalerwick at juno dot come
Thank you for a lovely introduction to your town! My favorite pre-cuts are Fat Quarters! Have a great weekend!

I was first drawn to your website when I saw the pattern OHO posted somewhere on the web. I have been coming back regularly to see the colour inspirations you post. When I saw London tube I really liked it too. I saw Juggling Summer on another site and loved it as soon as I saw it.
Barb@Witsend
Oh my goodness, I so SO much want to win!! My favorite pattern is Zen Silver, although just looking at your minimalist quilt, I really can see myself making one of these also! I love fat quarters, I collect them and buy them at every shop I happen upon. Thanks for the chance to win this amazing fat quarter bundle :)

I love jelly rolls. I have 4 all wrapped up still. I seem to buy a lot more projects then I have time for. Thanks for the chance to win something.scrappinsheryl@msn.com
I would love to win a FQ bundle. It's quickly becoming my favorite pre-cut! Small enough that I can use a number in a quilt and large enough that I could try my hand at a different project if desired.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Fat quarters are my favorite. They open up so many possibilities!
I really like the Swiss bag pattern! I recently visited Germany and fell in love with it! What a beautiful country!!!! Thank you for the chance at the giveaway!
Lovely circular quilting! It really adds to the quilt! I like 5" charm packs the best. They are great for my scrappy appliqué projects! Thanks for the chance to win!

Come visit whenever you're in the Dallas Texas area. I'll take you to eat Tex-Mex. Thanks for sharing about your hometown. I love all your patterns, especially the ones with circles like Big Wheel. I love your use of colors. I heard about you on Pat Sloan's radio show and am fascinated with your work.
Your town looks just lovely! I'm a fan of Werther's candy already too.
It's hard to pick just one favorite pattern, but if I have to pick just one, I'd pick Linen Inlay. I love the minimalism and the neutrals.
I think my favorite precut to work with would be jelly rolls because I'm not so good at cutting strips and they are ready to use !
I do hand piecing so working with fat quarters is my favorite...gives me the most choice in which blocks I can stitch...
thanks...
The fabric is all so cute! I love working with jelly rolls :)
yummmm, love both your silver quilts. like the little circles you've tucked into the field of squares! i like the description of your town: fields, forest, vast landscapes, tranquility! my hometown is mountains, glaciers, fjords; wildlife roams the streets [mostly moose, bears]. we're six blocks up from the bay to the mountain and 14 blocks from the bay to the old lagoon. time has spread the town out along the road [one road in and out of town, but it does connect to the big city!] so i've enjoyed all the hometowns in this blog hop! thanx for sharing and the wonderful giveaway!
I love layer cakes-- good to cut up, but also great for applique.
I would love to come visit your town. It's been fun reading each one.
My favorite precut is the charm square but these tiny 2.5" squares look like fun to experiment with!

srussett514@yahoo.com
I like to use the Jelly Rolls, but the 2.5 inch squares are going to be handy to use! As I looked at your first photo I immediately thought, "Oh, that looks like the sight from the train as we traveled through Germany." We asked what the yellow plant was and a women wrote it down and I looked it up when I got back to the USA. She didn't speak English and I didn't speak German but we managed to communicate anyway.
I love your post and your hometown. It's beautiful. My favorite pre-cut to work with is the jelly roll. I like not having to cut out the strips. Cutting is not my favorite things to do. Thank you for the giveaway and have a great weekend!
Sorry I couldn't get the link to open, but I'm a fat quarter bundle buyer.

The Jelly Belly quilt pattern is my favorite. Perfect for me favorite medium the jelly roll. Your circle quilting in your blog post was beautiful. Nice work.
